Caring for Howard Buford Park and the greater Mount Pisgah area

Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow

What We Do

We are here to nurture and restore connection to nature by protecting and stewarding native ecosystems and compatible recreation in the greater Mt Pisgah area.

Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah is a Eugene-based nonprofit caring for the lands, trails, habitats, and native plants of the greater Mt. Pisgah area.

01

Land Stewardship

We care for 2,000+ acres of land through sustainable practices that enhance ecosystem resilience.

02

Native Plant Nursery

We propagate 120 native plants for restoration projects and our bi-annual public plant sales, sending hardy natives into community landscapes and restored habitats across the area.

03

Trail Maintenance

We plan and lead volunteer work parties with our partners to build and maintain 30 miles of public trails across Buford Park & Mount Pisgah.

04

Academic Research

We partner with universities to support ecological research on our lands.

Our Approach To Land Stewardship

We take a collaborative, science-informed approach to caring for the park. By working alongside land managers, field experts, and community partners, we balance ecological health, recreation access, and realistic long-term management.

Stewardship at this scale is only possible through community support. Donations, volunteer efforts, and grant funding together make the ongoing care of the park possible.
